I am looking forward to another fun and exciting year at Abounding Love Preschool!

I have been married to my husband, Brad, for 12 years. We started dating our Junior year in high school and boy am I glad I said yes to that first date! We have three children; Kiarra (10), Kinzie (6) and Karson (2). They keep us busy with various sports and activities, and we love it!

We have lived in Lee's Summit for 8+ years, and I can't imagine living anywhere else! I enjoying reading, walking/running, doing arts and crafts with my children and getting outdoors as much as possible. We love to explore!

Our middle child, Kinzie, attended Abounding Love for her preschool needs, and we fell in love with the school and staff. I jumped at the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful program last year as a Preschool Prep Assistant. This year I am looking forward to continuing my journey with Abounding Love in the Pre-K classroom! I truly enjoy interacting with children and seeing their curiosity and love for learning grow each day. There's nothing better than seeing a child's face light up when they realize, "I did it!"

Thank you for sharing your children with us. It's going to be another great school year!

I am so excited to be joining Abounding Love Preschool this fall as an assistant Pre-Kindergarten teacher. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a teacher. It is my passion!

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While working on my undergrad work I taught two-year-olds at St. Luke's Child Care Center. After graduating I taught 3rd grade for 2 years and Kindergarten for 2 years in the Raytown School District.

In 2014, my family and I moved to London, England for my husband's job. This is when I started my journey as a stay at home mom. I had a blast exploring on this adventure but alas in 2016 our time in London was finished, and we moved back to the Kansas City area.

My husband, Chris, and I have been married for 7 years this November. We have three rambunctious boys that keep us busy. We are active in our church, Abundant Life, and enjoy spending time outdoors as a family.

I am so excited to return to the classroom this fall and feel beyond blessed to be doing it in a Christian setting and alongside such an amazing team of teachers.

I am so excited to be an assistant teacher in the Preschool classroom with Miss Jenn.

My husband Paul, and I have lived in Lee’s Summit for 25 years, and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church has been our church home since we moved here.  We have three children Joshua (17), Mikayla (13), and Zachary (9).

I was born and raised in Iowa and moved to the Kansas City area shortly after graduation from college.  I graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa with a degree in Accounting, where I also minored in Business Management and Psychology.  I worked in the banking industry for 11 years before becoming a stay at home mother and in-home day care provider for the next 12 years.

While working at home, I discovered how much I enjoyed working with children and watching them learn and grow.  Two years ago I began substitute teaching at Abounding Love, and now I feel that the time is right to be in the classroom on a daily basis.  I feel so blessed to have this opportunity.

I look forward to getting to know our new students, and I know that we will all learn a lot together!

My name is Jennifer Larsen. My husband, Joel, and I have been members of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church for a little over two years now. We joined the church soon after moving to Lee's Summit when my husband retired from active duty with the Marine Corps. Joel and I have been married for 18 years and we have three children; Ben (16), Meghan (13) and Sam (10). We feel very blessed to call the members of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church our church family.

Working with children is a very strong calling in my life; as is sharing the good news of our Savior's unending love, grace and mercy. Since we joined Beautiful Savior I have been blessed with the opportunity to do both. I have volunteered to teach 1st and 2nd grade Sunday School, helped with 5th and 6th grade Service Adventures at VBS, and I am a mentor for the FIRE Junior High Youth Group and the BLAZE Senior High Youth Group.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Park College in 1997. Since then I have worked as a Team Teacher/Para Professional in third grade, fourth grade, fifth grade, sixth grade, the Title I Reading Program and with the Autism/Intellectual Disability Classroom (K-6). I have been the lead classroom teacher in 3-year- old preschool and second grade.

In October of 2015 I was fortunate enough to be Alicia Rodick's assistant in her Tuesday/Thursday afternoon class, as well as, substituting as needed in all the classrooms at Abounding Love. I am very excited to be a part of the Abounding Love Preschool program as the Lead Preschool Teacher.

I strive to create a love for learning that is essential to the foundation of a child's education. I want my students' first school experience to be in a classroom that is a safe, loving, and encouraging atmosphere so that they become empowered learners. Preschoolers are developmentally at an age where they primarily learn by doing and through play. We will sing, dance, play and create while learning essential academics, how to socialize with our peers, developing our fine and gross motor skills and encouraging our cognitive development.

I strive to create a Christ-centered classroom where we share God's Word, which we are so blessed to do at Abounding Love Preschool. I believe there is no greater gift that you can give a child than to teach them about our loving God. I want to be a part of helping them begin to build a life-long relationship with Him which will be a strong cornerstone for their lives.

I am so excited to be a part of Abounding Love Preschool, and I cannot wait to meet my new students and their families!

For me being a preschool teacher is a journey of love. I truly enjoy caring, nuturing and guiding our preschoolers. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Washington University and a Masters of Education from the University of Missouri St. Louis. In my classroom, I have two primary goals: Experience It and Be Comfortable.

Young children's brains are growing at a rapid pace, and it is our job as parents and educators to let them experience the world around them with their five senses. I want to engage the whole child! Just as important for children is gaining comfort in learning how to be away from the home for learning, how to get along with new friends, and how to expand their vocabulary or motor skills without pressure. Much of this happens through independent and structured play, circle time, singing, and games. I will provide parents with information and skills inventories to make sure your little one is achieving or surpassing the appropriate milestones in their life.

I enjoy time with my family which includes two daughters, my hubby and a Weimaraner. In my free time, I enjoy watching old movies, reading, and planning activities at church. My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times" a simple yet powerful verse for all ages.

Hello - My name is Alicia Rodick and I am very excited to be back on the Abounding Love Preschool team again this year! Last year was wonderful! I enjoyed getting to know so many new students and families. I’m excited to see many of last year’s preschoolers in Pre-K this year!

My husband Matt & I have three wonderful children. Madison - 20 loves reading, fashion, art, and running track. She is a great helper around the house and is an excellent example for her younger siblings. Alec - 13 enjoys playing just about every sport - especially football, and is an avid reader. Anna - 4 makes us all laugh everyday and is such a joy in our lives and keeps us all on our toes!

I grew up out in the country between two very small towns - California and Jamestown, MO. I was very fortunate to have a loving, Godly family that attended church and Sunday school every week. We were always involved in our church, as well as youth activities growing up. I attribute my strong faith in Christ to my family at home, as well as my church family always pointing me in the right direction. I attended the University of Missouri as well as Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, graduating from SIUE in 2002 with my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a minor in psychology. I am also endorsed to teach Early Childhood Education. I have been teaching for 11 years, ages pre-k through first grade.

I have been married to my husband Matt for over 19 years. We have experienced a lot on our adventure together - we have lived in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska and most recently Tennessee with his company before moving back home to Missouri. We are very thankful and excited to be back home in Missouri for the past three years and closer to our families. I look forward to meeting all of my future students and their families. I truly believe that you are your child’s first and best teacher and I am so happy to be a part of their journey spiritually as well as academically along with you.

I am so looking forward to the 2017-2018 school year at Abounding Love Preschool!  I was able to join the teaching staff at the end of the last school year and had such a great time getting to know the students, staff and parents.  Both of my children (Caleb 7 years old and Molly 5 years old) have attended Abounding Love, and Molly is in Pre-K here this year.  We have attended Beautiful Savior for about six years and have been members for the last two.

I am originally from Omaha, Nebraska, but I grew up in Lenexa, Kansas.  I met my husband, Matt, and moved to Lee's Summit eight years ago, and I love it here!  I'm a huge Nebraska fan, as well as the Royals and Chiefs, and pretty much sports in general.  I enjoy running and try to stay as active as I can.  I also really enjoy DIY and taking something old and making it new again.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from UMKC and a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Johnson County Community College.  I have worked in several different industries including restaurants, medical offices, a release center for convicts coming out of prison, and a law office.  I most recently have helped my husband with his house painting business and also have gotten to be a stay-at-home mom over the years.  Through these different positions I have realized that I really enjoy helping and assisting others, and I really like serving as a supportive role, which is exactly what I'll do here at Abounding Love.  I am honored to get to be a part of your child's education and can't wait for the great school year ahead!

Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teacher

I am extremely excited to be joining the Abounding Love Preschool this fall as an assistant teacher in the pre-kindergarten classroom with Mrs. Brandi Totta.

My passion is to make sure that children learn about God at a young age because it will strengthen their foundation to become the Christians of tomorrow.  I want the students to know that God exists in all parts of their life and that he is walking alongside them as they go through life’s journey.  Being able to educate children in a Christian environment is a dream come true.

I received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Athletic Training (Sports Medicine) but by the end of the program realized I had a real desire to teach children.  I returned to school at the University of North Texas and received a Post-Baccalaureate in Education.

My husband, Casey, and I have been married for 9 years.  We have three wonderful children that always keep us on the go.  Our family relocated to Lee’s Summit this past year from Dallas, TX, and we joined Beautiful Savior Luther Church in October of 2016.  I am currently involved in the praise team and actively work with the FIRE Junior High School group as a mentor.

It is a privilege to have the opportunity to educate your children this coming year, and I look forward to the many fun memories we will create over the course of the next year!

What a blessing it is to join the wonderful team of teachers at Abounding Love!  I am so excited to return to the classroom and to be a part of your children's lives this school year.  I felt so very lucky last year to have found such a wonderful preschool for my own two children and am so grateful to now be a part of such an amazing Early Childhood program.

My husband Vince and I have 2 wonderful children- Vince, age 5 and Bella age 6.  We love living in rural Johnson County, MO and spend as much time as possible outdoors with our family.  Much of our free time is spent at our lake home where my children enjoy fishing, swimming, boating, tubing and are learning to ski.  Bella is my artist- always working on a project or her latest creation.  She enjoys dance, cheerleading and golf, too.  My son Vince is convinced he will be the next John Deere when he grows up and loves tractors, horses and building.  My husband and his family are in the food industry- owning both a restaurant and a food distribution company- and we love to cook and grow our own herbs and vegetables.

I grew up in Raymore, MO and attended Avila University and Johnson County Community College.  I minored in dance and history and originally planned on becoming a Physical Therapist.  Through my love of dance and years teaching in the studio, I discovered my love of children and my desire to be a part of their early learning experience.  I have enjoyed every minute of my teaching career and there is nothing better than watching a child learn, grow and discover- socially, emotionally and spiritually.

I have been married for 9 years and prior to being a stay at home mom, I worked in early childhood as a lead teacher or in a public school setting for 15 years.  Watching my own children "bloom" at Abounding Love made me miss teaching, and I have been blessed to return to the classroom and be a part of your children's learning experience.  Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of their lives, and I look forward to our year together.
