KATHERINE PALMER

For me being an Early Childhood preschool director is a journey of love. I truly enjoy caring, nurturing and guiding our preschoolers. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Washington University in St. Louis and a Masters of Education from the University of Missouri St. Louis. Our purpose here is to Boldly Share the Love of Christ by bringing the "Good News" of the Gospel to children. We support our families and lead the children to grow in faith. We are thankful to be able to share this journey with parents

Young children's brains are growing at a rapid pace, and it is our job as parents and educators to let them experience the world around them with their five senses. I want to engage the whole child! Just as important for children is gaining comfort in learning how to be away from the home for learning, how to get along with new friends, and how to expand their vocabulary or motor skills without pressure. Much of this happens through independent and structured play, circle time, singing, and games. I will provide parents with information and skills inventories to make sure your little one is achieving or surpassing the appropriate milestones in their life.

I enjoy time with my family which includes two daughters, my hubby and two weimaraners. In my free time, I enjoy watching old movies, reading, and planning activities at church. My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times" a simple yet powerful verse for all ages.

Greetings,

We are delighted to have your child join us for their first learning experiences. Early Childhood Education is a wonderful journey for parents and children alike. At Abounding Love Preschool (ALPS) we consider the whole family as part of the learning experience for our little ones. Let me explain our three guiding principles to explain our school in its simplest terms.

  1. We are Christ-centered

  2. We think Preschool is for children and we are play based. (We learn a lot through play)

  3. We think parents should enjoy the outcome of preschool for their children as much as

    their child enjoys preschool.

Abounding Love is now over 10 years old and what a journey it has been. We have grown from one class and seven children to 5 classes, on multiple days and 100 children. Praise God! We have been blessed to have so many children graduate from our program.

What makes our program outstanding? Here at ALPS we help your child discover the joy of playing, exploring and growing their minds. Hands-on experiences, interacting with classmates, singing, drawing, all help to build their social-emotional skills along with their academic skills. It is the combination of the two that lets your child grow wholly and learn to be comfortable and confident in themselves

Let’s don’t forget our amazing staff here. Our teachers are dedicated and caring. They have credentials second to none in area preschools. Lead teachers must have a bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience or they must have 15 plus years of experience in an accredited childcare experience. ALPS teachers far exceed these minimums. They know how to plan meaningful lesson plans, lead and direct children, counsel them for discipline and listen to engage them personally.

We understand parents as well. It is important that parents see their little one is growing and enjoying learning. We will make sure that there is loads of art work coming home that shows off learning letters, seasons, holidays, nature and maybe even dragons, princesses, trains and so much more. We will have programs where you can see them sing and meet their classroom friends. Parents will receive planned feedback on their child‘s progress from teachers who cares.

We are honored to be entrusted with the care of your child. We are glad to forge a partnership with you and have your little one grow and experience the joy of childhood and learning!
