For me being an Early Childhood preschool director is a journey of love. I truly enjoy caring, nuturing and guiding our preschoolers. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Washington University in St. Louis and a Masters of Education from the University of Missouri St. Louis. Our purpose here is to Bodly Share the Love of Christ by bringing the "Good News" of the Gospel to children. We support our families and lead the children to grow in faith. We are thankful to be able to share this journey with parents

Young children's brains are growing at a rapid pace, and it is our job as parents and educators to let them experience the world around them with their five senses. I want to engage the whole child! Just as important for children is gaining comfort in learning how to be away from the home for learning, how to get along with new friends, and how to expand their vocabulary or motor skills without pressure. Much of this happens through independent and structured play, circle time, singing, and games. I will provide parents with information and skills inventories to make sure your little one is achieving or surpassing the appropriate milestones in their life.

I enjoy time with my family which includes two daughters, my hubby and two weimaraners. In my free time, I enjoy watching old movies, reading, and planning activities at church. My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times" a simple yet powerful verse for all ages.

Hello, my name is Stephanie Wood, and I am a lifelong resident of Lee’s Summit. I am excited for another year on the Abounding Love Preschool team! I am a Pre-K teacher! I have enjoyed working with and being a positive role model in the lives of children for 26 years and counting.

I am the proud momma to five children, four sons and one daughter. I can usually be found cheering on my boys from the sidelines of a soccer field or cheering on  my daughter while she does gymnastics.  My two older boys graduated from Lee’s Summit High School and then University of Central Missouri. I have a freshman in college at Rockhurst University, a sophomore at Lee’s Summit High School, and my daughter is in 4th grade.

I am a crazy animal lover and have filled some of the quiet in my house as my children grow and move out on their own by fostering puppies and dogs.

I have my bachelor’s in early childhood education and have worked in different areas of the early childhood education field. I have taken a few course towards my master’s degree in elementary education. I have been a teacher in the classroom and a director in a preschool. It is my passion to work with children and be a positive influence as they grow as lifelong learners. I strive to meet the individual needs of children and create meaningful relationships with families to ensure success on each child’s educational journey.

I am so excited to be teaching in the Preschool classroom with Miss Lorie and Miss Lyndsey as my assistants.

My husband Paul, and I have lived in Lee’s Summit for 28 years, and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church has been our church home since we moved here.  We have three children Joshua (19), Mikayla (16), and Zachary (12).

I was born and raised in Iowa and moved to the Kansas City area shortly after graduation from college.  I graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa with a degree in Accounting, where I also minored in Business Management and Psychology.  I worked in the banking industry for 11 years before becoming a stay at home mother and in-home day care provider for the next 12 years.

While working at home, I discovered how much I enjoyed working with children and watching them learn and grow.  Five years ago I began substitute teaching at Abounding Love, and I joined the staff as an assistant teacher. This is my first year as the lead teacher and  I feel so blessed to continue this opportunity.

I look forward to getting to know our new students, and I know that we will all learn a lot together!

My name is Jacqueline Braton, and I’m very excited to be the lead teacher for preschool prep this year!

My husband Patrick and I have two children, Alexa (12) and Kellan (5). I was born and raised in Juarez, Mexico until I moved to Kansas City during my junior year of high school. I graduated with an Associates of Arts degree from Metropolitan Community College while working full time for the state of Missouri in the mental health department as a Psychiatric Technician. I worked for the mental health department for 12 years until my son Kellan was born, I was blessed to be a stay at home mom. I am grateful to have been able to be home with my kids and enjoy watching them grow up! I love to travel, read books outside and enjoy nature, have fun with my family and baking decadent desserts for all.

Three years ago our family attended Ascension Lutheran Church while living in Blue Springs, MO. After moving to Greenwood, MO our family started looking for a new home to serve the Lord. We fell in love with Beautiful Savior and have not looked back since then. I’m currently back at school again to further my education.

We couldn’t be more thankful for the outstanding work that the teachers and every member of the program does for the children. I can’t wait for another eventful school year with everyone!

I am excited to be returning to the Abounding Love Preschool team this year!  This year I will be an Assistant Teacher in Ms. Stephanie’s Pre-Kindergarten classroom.

I was born and raised in Pierre, South Dakota. I attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD, where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development, Child and Family Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood and a minor in Sociology. My degree has allowed me to work in a variety of settings. Initially, I worked as a Child Care Counselor in a residential treatment center’s assessment and short-term care unit. Our team evaluated and cared for children with emotional disorders and behavioral issues. When my husband’s education path relocated us to Chicago, I was hired by TeacherCare. TeacherCare places teachers and child care specialists with families to provide care and education in their home. I was fortunate to be with the same family for four years. We shared such a bond that we are still very close friends today! Following my husband’s graduation, he accepted a fellowship in the Kansas City area, so we made our home in Olathe. We fell in love with Kansas City and decided to stay! I was a Lead Teacher at Olathe Head Start for two years before becoming a stay at home mother. While raising our children, I enjoyed volunteering in their classrooms and being a member of the PTA.

My husband, Kelsey, and I have lived in Lee’s Summit for 17 years. Our sons, Aidan (18) and Cullen (15), keep us very busy with all of their sports and activities. Stella Luna, our black Lab, completes our family! We enjoy cooking together, trying new restaurants, watching movies, fishing and traveling!

I am very happy to be returning to the classroom. I can’t wait to meet all of our students and families! I look forward to contributing to a fun and exciting learning environment and making this a wonderful year at Abounding Love Preschool!

I'm so excited to be a part of the Abounding Love Preschool! I'm originally from Carroll, Iowa, but have lived in Lee's Summit for 9 years with my husband Dan, and 3 kids Kolby (7) Brody (5) and Maci (2). I previously worked in the marketing/advertising field, however, shortly before I was due with my second son, I was blessed to be able to stay home and raise my children, be their main teacher and provider, and watch them grow. During this time, I was introduced to Abounding Love Preschool, while looking for a school to enroll my oldest son in. All 3 of my kids have, or are currently enrolled at Abounding Love!

Aside from my professional background, I have 3-4 years experience working in the medical field with physically and mentally disabled patients. I was surprised how quickly I began to build relationships and it was truly a joy working with them. Nothing is more satisfying to me than helping people learn and grow. Since these jobs, I've always missed working more closely with people and making a difference in someones life. I feel like this opportunity to help teach at Abounding Love will let me do just that. I'm so excited to work with the Preschool class and can only imagine what we will all learn together!

Hello! I’m Mrs. Stacy Gordey (Pronounced Gor-day). I am anxious to spend the upcoming year with you and your child/family. We will all grow together in our Faith with God. Our full Day Pre-K will prepare your littles for their Kindergarten adventure!

My husband Gary and I live in Lee’s Summit with our youngest child Brock. He loves to play outside with Family and Friends. He loves to play Baseball, bowling, football, and basketball! Our daughter, Mercedes, is a  cheerleading coach for CMAS in Columbia. Courtney is a Full Time Nursing Student at Rasmussen College.  It seems as if we blinked and the girls were grown and out on their own and now Brock is a Teenager!

I believe all children deserve an active, safe, but meaningful, learning environment. I will encourage them to observe and explore. Yes, at times we will get messy! No worries, throw those clothes in the washer, and they will be clean as new! Our days will be filled with adventures!
